ADMISSION TO PART-TIME POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Part-time Postgraduate Programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic Session:

A. AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
(1) FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES
(A) Department of Community Medicine
(i) Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (PGDPH)
(ii) Master in Public Health (MPH) with the following options:
(a) Health Education
(b) Public Health Nutrition
(c) Health Administration, Management and Policy
(d) Epidemiology and Disease Control
(e) Population and Reproductive Health

Admission Requirement
(a) Basic Requirement:
Candidate for (i) must possess five (5) O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Candidate for (ii) above must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes
including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and
Biology.
(b) Specific Requirements:
Candidate for (i) who possesses
i. Bachelor degree in disciplines not related to health such as social sciences, Statistics, Mathematics and other science courses with a minimum of 2nd class lower division, must be currently involved in active public health practice with at least 3 years’ experience OR
ii. Third class in disciplines not related to health, must be currently involved in active Public Health practice with at least 5 years’ experience OR
iii. Higher National Diploma or its equivalent in Health Science related courses, must have a minimum of lower credit and must be currently involved in active public health practice with at least 3 years’ experience OR
iv. Registered Nurses and Midwives or Community Health Officers (CHOs) certificate with a minimum of lower credit and 3 years’ working experience.
Candidate for (ii) must possess
i. Basic professional degree in Medicine or Dentistry from any recognized University, with at least 3 years of experience in health care programs OR
ii B.Sc/B.Tech degree in Public Health from Universities recognized by the Senate of LAUTECH with at least 3 years’ experience in health care programs OR
iii B.Sc/B.Tech degree in disciplines related to health such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology, Anatomy and other health-related disciplines including Human Nutrition, Demography, Health Education, Environmental Health and Biostatistics (minimum of second class lower division), who are currently engaged in active Public Health practice with at least 5 years’ experience OR. iv. Minimum of second class lower in first degree in a more diverse background for example in Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, with at least 5 years’ cognate experience and track record in health-related organizations, with evidences of appropriate post-graduate education/professional training in any area of public health specialty or Postgraduate diploma in Public Health OR.
v. Third class in Health Science oriented discipline with a relevant Post graduate diploma.

(2) FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
(i) Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science (PGDC)
(ii) Master in Information Technology (MIT)
Admission requirements
(a) Basic Requirement:
Candidate must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes including English, Mathematics and any other three science related subjects.
(b) Specific Requirements:
Candidate for (i) must possess
i. minimum qualification of Third Class degree in Science, Social
Science, Engineering and other fields
ii. HND with a minimum of Lower Credit
Candidates for (ii) must possess
i. Bachelor’s degree of LAUTECH, or any other recognized Universities in relevant fields with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division
ii. A minimum of 60% average in Postgraduate Diploma from LAUTECH or any other recognized University
iii. Third class in B.Tech, B.Sc with Postgraduate diploma in relevant fields. HND with a minimum of lower credit plus professional certificate in relevant fields
DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
(i) Postgraduate Diploma in Safety Technology Management
(ii) Master in Safety Technology Management
Admission requirements
(a) Basic Requirement:
Candidates must possess 5 O’Level credit passes at maximum of two
(2) sittings in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB to include English, Mathematics and any other three science related subjects.
(b) Specific Requirements:
Candidate for (i) must possess
i. Minimum qualification of Third Class degree of Bachelor of
Technology, Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science OR
ii. HND or its equivalent in Engineering, Technology or any of the related Sciences at Lower Credit Level, with a minimum of 2 years of Industrial working experience in related fields OR
iii. Full Technological certificate/Advanced Diploma of City and Guilds, Advanced Diploma with Professional safety measure
Note: Candidate with any of the certificates in b(iii) must have minimum of five years’ working experience.
Candidates for B (ii) must possess
i. Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science Degrees Certificate in Engineering, Technology or any of the relevant Sciences with a minimum of Second Class (Lower
Division) OR ii. Postgraduate Diploma or its equivalent in Safety Technology Management of LAUTECH, or any of the relevant disciplines at credit level.

(3) FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
Department of Management and Accounting
(i) Postgraduate Diploma in Management Science (PGDMGS) with areas of specialization in:
(a) Financial Management
(b) Management Studies
(c) Accounting
(d) Management Information System
(e) Cost Management
(ii) Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA)
(iii) Master in Business Administration (MBA) with areas of specialization in:
(a) Marketing Management

i. Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines with a minimum of
Third Class from recognized Universities OR
ii. HND in relevant disciplines with a minimum of Lower Credit from a recognized institution
Candidate for (iii) and (iv) in addition to the basic requirements, must possess
i. Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or numerate discipline like Engineering and Sciences from an approved University, with a minimum of second class lower division OR
ii. Postgraduate Diploma in relevant disciplines from recognized
Universities OR iii. HND in any discipline with a minimum of Lower Credit plus Postgraduate Diploma in Social Sciences or numerate disciplines from recognized Universities are also eligible for admission OR
iv. Holders of professional qualifications from relevant professional bodies that are Chartered by the Federal Government of Nigeria such as ICAN, CIBN, CILPAN, ANAN, NIM, CIPSMIN, CIN, NIMARKCIPM (IPMA Professional Part 2 Certificate),
Postgraduate Diploma in Cost Management or Associate
Membership (ACCM) of Chartered Institute of Cost Managers of
Nigeria may be considered OR
v. Holders of HND Distinction/Upper Credit or Third Class degree in any relevant discipline plus ten years’ experience at the managerial level may also be considered.

(4) FACULTY OF PURE AND APPLIED SCIENCES
Department of Pure and Applied Biology
(i) Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Health (PGDEHM) with specialization in:
(a) Public Health Management
(b) Biodiversity Management and Conservation
(c) Industrial Biotechnology
(ii) Master in Environmental Health Management (MEHM)(Public health option)
Admission requirements
(a) Basic Requirement:
Candidate for (i) and (ii) must possess five (5) O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Geography/Agricultural Science, Physics, Chemistry, Health Education etc.
(b) Specific Requirements:
Candidate for (i) must possess
i. Bachelor’s degree in Science and Science-based courses with a
minimum of Third Class from a reputable
University/Applicants with Higher National Diploma (HND) and its equivalents from recognized Polytechnics and Institutes with minimum of Lower Credit in relevant Science-based courses, such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Forestry,
Fisheries, Health Technology, Community Health, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Animal Health and Technology,
Environmental education e.t.c are also eligible.
Candidate for (ii) must
i. Be a graduate of LAUTECH or of any approved University in Science and Science-based disciplines with at least Second Class
Honours OR ii. Possess PGD in Public Health Management from LAUTECH or from any other approved University with 60% or (3.5) weighted average or a University degree not less than Third Class (with evidence of at least 5years of post-qualification cognate working
experience in a relevant organization)
Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry
(i) Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial and Environmental
Management (IEM)
(ii) Master in Industrial and Environmental Management
Admission requirements
(a) Basic Requirement:
Candidate for (i) and (ii) must possess five (5) O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology (b) Specific Requirements:
Candidate for (i) must possess
i. Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification in a relevant branch of science or engineering with a minimum of Third Class OR
ii. Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of lower credit in Environmental Health with two (2) years working experience in the field. Applicants with other relevant qualifications with at least two years work experience in the field of environmental impact assessment or pollution control may also be considered
Candidate for (ii) must possess
i. Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification in a relevant branch of science or engineering with a minimum of Second Class Lower division OR
ii. Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Health with work experience in the field. Applicants with other relevant qualifications with substantial professional work experience in the field of environmental impact assessment or pollution control may also be considered

(a) Basic Requirements:
Candidate for (i) must possess four (4) O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and any other core science subject, e.g. Biology, Physics Chemistry.
Candidate for (ii) above must possess five (5) O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics and any other core science subject, e.g. Biology, Physics or Chemistry.
(b) Specific Requirements:
Candidate for (i) must be a
i. Holder of HND with a minimum of Lower Credit, Registered Nursing Certificate, Community Health Certificate or their equivalents from recognized higher institutions.
Candidate for (ii) must
i. Hold First Degree of not less than Second Class Lower Division in relevant areas (Health Education and Special Education, Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, and any other relevant discipline in Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities) OR
ii. Hold LAUTECH Postgraduate Diploma Certificate or its equivalent from other recognized Universities.
Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics
Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Mathematics
Admission Requirements
(a) Five (5) O’level credits pass in English Language, Mathematics and any three of Economics, Geography, Government, Commerce, Financial Accounting.
(b) First degree with a minimum of third class, HND with a minimum of lower credit (or its equivalent) in Mathematics,
Statistics, Economics, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Insurance, Marketing
(c) Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ANAN, ICB
